In this well known story, Jesus and the disciples are caught out at sea in a frightening storm. Mark shows us that Jesus has immeasurable power. The disciples are scared of Jesus after he calms the storm. But we learn that Jesus uses his power for our benefit and that a good response to our own fears is to bring them to Jesus.

All Authority #2 - In the story of Jesus healing the paralytic man, Mark shows us that Jesus has the authority to forgive us our sins. The power that Jesus has is relevant, true and helpful today.

All Authority #1 - When was the last time you were amazed by Jesus? As we approach Easter, take a moment to consider the settled thoughts and feelings you have towards Jesus. Knowing a watered-down idea of Jesus leaves us bored. Knowing and encountering Jesus Christ, the Son of God with all authority and power and perfect love, excites wonder and awe. May you grow in your wonder and awe of our Lord Jesus Christ.

This is the last sermon of the God and Money series. We are going to think about investing in the next generation. Part of being a good steward of the money that God gives us is to think about what will happen to it once we are gone. None of this matters if we don’t have a growing relationship with Jesus. The most important thing we can pass down to the next generation is a love for Jesus.
