Grace - God's New Society - Part 12 - Hope for Holiness

Troubling elections! Political unrest! Wars! Economic uncertainty! It is easy to feel discouraged and cynical. Yet the church is called to hope!

Our hope is that there will come a day when wrongs will be righted, where suffering will end, where people will be united and peace will reign. Our hope means that how we live now matters. Our lives and the way we choose to live them have eternal significance. Not only this, but the church has a great part to play in God’s eternal plan. So, how do we live?

This Sunday we will be lighting our first Advent Candle of hope and wrapping up our study on Ephesians.

Grace - God's New Society - Part 9 - Unity of the Church

You have faith in Jesus - so what? Ephesians 1-3 describes the amazing work God has accomplished in bringing all things in heaven and earth under the authority of Jesus Christ. Beginning in chapter 4, Paul asks, "So what?" What is the evidence that we're under the authority of Jesus? What difference does it make in our lives? That is the challenge we'll be wrestling with this Sunday.

Kevin Clouse is a pastoral trainer with SALT. He started coming to The Bridge this summer and loves the sense of community here.

Grace - God's New Society - Part 8 - Immeasurably More

God has the ability to do far more than we ever ask or imagine, but often we don’t ask and can’t imagine. Join us this week as we remember the reality that Christ can dwell in our hearts through faith. When our lives are found in Him, we can envision a much different (and much better!) future. As our hearts respond to His great love, we as the Church, become an unstoppable force for good in the world.

Grace - God's New Society - Part 7 - The Church and the Wisdom of God

When people think about “Church” so many notions come to mind. Is it the building? The service? The music? The sermon? The people? Admittedly, there is no perfect church, but The Church is a beautiful reality, marked distinctively by Jesus.

Yes, it is a gathering of people who worship Jesus, but its more: The Church reveals the wisdom of God, especially when men and women approach God with freedom and confidence in Jesus. Our lives and the way we love others is a direct reflection of our awareness of God’s love for us. Join us this Sunday, as we remember and celebrate what God has done for us.

Grace - God's New Society - Part 6 - God's People

Looking at Ephesians 2:11-22 this week, we will see a call for unity in Christ. We often say how diverse our church is — so many backgrounds, yet we have one Saviour. We must remember that our differences are by design. He is building a global kingdom that reflects His saving power and wonderful creativity. Mark Dever remarks, "The Church is the Gospel made visible.” While we may not be the same, we have been made one in Jesus. As our church continues to grow, my prayer is that our unity around Jesus would become influentially clear in our city.

Grace - God's New Society - Part 5 - Alive to Live

Before and After. Then and now. The Bible is clear that when God works in our lives — we are most certainly different. This week, we look at Ephesians 2:1-10, remembering that the way we lived before knowing Christ and the way we live now that we are in Christ, is distinctly new. Join us this week as we continue to ask God to “open the eyes of our hearts” that we would see more of Jesus.
